There’s one thing that Mark Latuszek can’t do — and that’s walk away from an unsolved problem. He’s hard wired to find solutions and to stick with something and make it happen, no matter how hard the challenge. That’s just Mark’s personality.

The Ground Floor of Computer Sciences
You see, Mark has always been blessed with an analytical mind for problem solving. In fact, you could argue he was a geek before that was even a word. Back before there were personal computers, or PCs, Mark learned the computer language, Fortran, in the computer labs at his high school. He easily earned A grades in this new technical field. The decision to study computer sciences in college was a natural one.

Academic Career Opportunity
Mark was approached by an administrator from Wright College to help them with a relatively new field of data entry. Mark rose up through the ranks and eventually accepted a job at Truman College, where he became Director of Financial Aid. He quickly became known as the “go-to-guy,” the one who could find a solution where others couldn’t. To further his career, Mark went back to school to earn his Masters Degree, eventually becoming an Associate Dean for Truman College.

In this role, Mark was responsible for overseeing the admissions process and increasing student enrollment. When he took over the position, Mark discovered that the department was in disarray, and he had to do something about the low enrollment rates. True to his nature, Mark set about improving things.

Mission Accomplished
Mark took stock of the college’s current strategies and began implementing his ideas. He initiated an Open House event that brought in high school students by the bus loads to tour the school and meet the staff and faculty. Each year he kept adding to the scope of the event, eventually getting to 45 buses of students over 3 days. He involved the whole college, from janitorial staff to the professors, and each year everyone looked forward to next year’s open house. His program was great for team building, and it more than doubled new student enrollment from 500 to 1200 students!

Making Things Happen in Real Estate
Looking for a new challenge, Mark took an early retirement after many years in the academic field and jumped headlong into real estate. His problem solving and tenacious drive made him a success right out of the gate and he’s become a respected agent helping local residents with their home sales and purchases. He brings to homeowners the same creative problem solving and analytical mind that made him a success in higher education.
